We apologise for any disruption in service

Minor technical glitch, my comments section was completely broken. I was wondering why there were no comments to my long overdue post (I am ignoring the possibility that there were no comments anyway).

Either way, its all working now and hopefully I won't be a stranger.

Viva la France!

I haven't blogged for a while but I find talking about my personal life on the internet where anyone can see to be very difficult. However, my life is taking a very positive turn and I want to share some of the fun things that are going on with you and anyone who is interested.

I recently came back from a week long holiday with my family, not Toni unfortunately but my mum, dad, both sisters and their husbands. Now if you know my mother the fact that she hired an actual chateau with about a zillion rooms and acres won't come as a surprise. It was absolutely wonderful, I just wish I could have spent a bit of time there with Toni.

I am pretty rubbish when it comes to these things and so I have no photos except this one.

How pretentious can you get? I loved it.

While I was there I did a little Geocaching. Now for those who don't know what I am talking about, Geocaching is a worldwide game. It involves people taking a container and placing at least a notebook inside and then hiding it somewhere. Now this can be just about anywhere in the world. The game is to find these 'caches'. In order to do so the hider will get the GPS co-ordinates of the site and post it on the Geocaching website. Once found you then sign the book and can either leave something in the box, or take any objects out as long as you replace them with something of at least equal value.

It is so much fun. I got into it when I found an app for my iPhone, what did I find? The nearest one to me was about a quarter mile from my house! Toni and I love this even though we are new. This gave me an idea to log my caching antics here. Its better than talking about my life online huh? Here are some pictures from my first few finds:

This is the first cache that Toni and I found:

This is the second cache we found later that day, this time with my mom and dad:

My mom and I looking for that second cache

And finally this is my mom with the cache we found in France, I may be sad but I think that is seriously cool:

Happy Birthday To Me...

I am having one heck of an awesome birthday! So much so I thought I would blog about it. Toni and I were meant to be going to Manchester today in order so that Toni could buy me a hi-fi and turntable. Yesterday we get this call from her mum to say that her uncle has a hifi and turntable for us.

Apart from the fact that Toni's awesome birthday present idea is now void, bless her, we thought that it would be cool to go and look.

Now I don't know if you ever worry about what you will get when family say 'no need to buy one, I have one for you', but I was this morning. Toni's uncle said that the hifi only has one working channel and no speakers. But being the budding tech nerd that I am I thought this could be a fun little fixer upper project. Instead this is what I get...

OH MY WORD!!!!! You see that sign for Bang & Oluffsen right? And the Marantz hifi right? I nearly wet myself with excitement when I saw it. Not only that but I have taken it home and apart from an adaptor I had to go to town for (weird Danish music companies) the whole thing is in 100% working condition. I mean not a single broken part whatsoever! All I did was salvage some temporary speakers from a stereo that I currently own and Bob's your uncle my music system is looking snazzy.

Oh, and you think things couldn't get any better, well. Toni's mum has convinced her dad to give us their entire record collection...and Toni's uncle threw in a big pile for good measure when we took the sound system...how cool are these people!

If music be the food of love

Ok, so a while back Toni and me did a fun iTunes quiz thing, and I found another one. This one you pick ten people, write their names and put your iTunes on shuffle and try to relate the songs that come up to your people. Here are mine:

Toni: The New Soft Shoe by Gram Parsons
Okay, Toni isn't new, she isn't soft (depending on how you look at it), and I am sure the last time I checked she wasn't a shoe. She does like soft shoes though...tenuous...

Gav: Rock 'n' Roll Heart by Melanie
Gav is pretty rock 'n' roll at times, especially when he is playing on guitar hero!

Mark: Almost Over by Elliott Smith
I may be visiting him today so you could say I will be almost over when I leave.

Urky: Mary by Noah and the Whale
If only the song was Mary Jane, we know about you Urky!

Dan: Jeb Rand by Bedouin Soundclash
Again tenuous but either Danny likes that annoying comedian Jo Brand or he likes b randed clothing cos he is stylish.

Markie:Genious Of Love by Talking Heads
He is pretty much the love guru...

Kaz: Spare Parts by Bruce Springsteen
Well, if I were a playwright and I needed someone who was obsessive about washing up, Kaz would be the first in line for the spare part!

Vic: It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry by Bob Dylan
This is a difficult one cos it really doesn't take a lot to make Vic laugh especially when you get her started.

Iain: Doesn't Have To Be This Way by Alison Krauss
This is a common theme when you work together on sound...its always about improving what you already do.

Matt: Gnik Nus by The Beatles
The first sensible one...this song is as unintelligible as my good friend Matt Wood! (Just kidding dude, I still love ya).

The 21st on the 21st

I'm not sure that I'm awake yet. The double parties for Toni's 21st were a major success. The breakfast was awesome, my mom hates my dreads and trid her best to ingore they even existed. hehehe.

The evening party was just wild. The games were a good laugh with some very questionable dares involved. Somebody spiked the punch that already had two bottles of rum in it...insanity. Somewhow a bottle of salsa fell on the floor and covered the living room, somehow spattering the opposite wall also, no idea how that happened. Needless to say the clean up was not fun.

I feel like if I stop for even a moment I am going to fall asleep again! I still have a film club to attend (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) and then a drive to Brighton to drop off a friend at uni...pooped doesn't even begin to descibe my state. It's a good thing I have tomorrow booked off.

Anyway, its been fun and thanks to everyone who helped with the party. You are all heroes. It was lovely to see Toni s happy, it makes all the crazy preparation completely worth it. I am glad you had a great time babe!

Bye

Good clean fun

So I got up this morning and washed my hair for the second time (before you say anything I mean since I got dreadlocks!), It feels nice to wash them but they still look ratty and horrible afterwards. They are meant to get gradually worse over the next month and then improve again the month after so, one week doen three more to go!

Either way, dreads are the best, they may look ratty and take half a century to dry but I can just put them in a band and they look awesome all over again, YAY!

Now, well I am having a momentary respite from cleaning the house (for those of you who are snickering dont be sad, you know who you are.) I cant stand cleaning but its in prep for Toni's birthday and cos it makes her happy it is totally worth it.

She just growled and said "Hurry up!" so I guess thats my queue to leave

Love you guys
Kyle

PS Toni didn't actually growl, I made that up.
